Treading in the foot steps of Saint Peter (Peerke) Donders, we take you on a tour to the pilgrim settlement Batavia. We depart by bus from Paramaribo to the west of Suriname. After a drive of approx. one hour through district Saramacca, we arrive at the fishermen’s village called Coppenamepunt. From here, the trip is continued by boat. After 45 minutes, we arrive at the pilgrimage place Batavia. There you receive a guided tour to relive the history of Batavia. After lunch there is opportunity to spend leisure time at the location. You return to Paramaribo in the afternoon. Included in the tour: boat and bus transportation, lunch and snacks, drinks (non-alcoholic), Dutch and English speaking guide.
