Day 1: San Jose - Costa Rica
Arrival to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO, CR). One of our representatives will meet and greet you upon arrival and will provide you with a transfer to the San Jose area where you will stay one night at the selected hotel.
About the San Jose area and surroundings:
The Central Valley offers a variety of tourist, cultural and natural attractions, including Costa Rica’s best museums: the Gold, Jade, National, Costa Rican Art, La Salle Natural Science, University of Costa Rica Insect and Children’s Contemporary Art and Design Museums. In addition, this region is home to the architectural jewel of Costa Rica: the National Theater. All of these are located in the country’s capital.

Day 2: San Jose - Pacuare River
After being picked up at your hotel in San Jose early in the morning, you will be driven to the Pacuare River for a day of adventure and adrenaline. The Pacuare River is considered by many rafters to be one of the world’s five-best Class-III/IV rafting trips. Professional guides and the equipment will be waiting upon arrival to the river and after some safety instructions; you will start on this incredible rafting journey. Once in the water, you will experience the exhilaration of riding the waves on this wild and scenic river, which courses through a tropical wilderness of dense vegetation and steep gorges that rise majestically above its banks. Arriving to your overnight destination, you will find a jungle oasis nestled in the middle of an enchanting and captivating rainforest. Overnight at Pacuare tent camp.

Day 3: Sarapiquí
After a breakfast, you will launch the rafts again for the last part of our trip. Rafting becomes even more exciting as you use the skills and experience gained on this trip. Your guides will stop the rafts along the journey and lead you up paths and side streams that open onto pristine waterfalls and natural water slides. Lunch will be served along the river, and when reaching the take out, you can change into dry clothes to take a ground transfer to the Sarapiquí area where you will spend one night at the selected hotel.
For the night, you will discover the wonders of the tropical rainforest doing a hiking tour at Tirimibina Rain Forest Reserve. A local guide will show you the marvelous of the forest at night. Sounds, lights and aromas will capture your imagination. In a two and a half hour walk; search for nocturnal species such as insects, bats, frogs, toads, and mammals providing a different perspective of the rain forest.
About the Sarapiquí area and surroundings:
Puerto Viejo has seen significant commercial and tourism development that has converted it into a well-visited ecotourism destination. It serves as a biological corridor to the Braulio Carrillo National Park and because of its rich biodiversity, is recognized as a scientific research site and the last stronghold of endangered species such as the great green macaw.

Day 4: Arenal Vulcano
After breakfast you will enjoy the horseback riding tour at Hacienda Pozo Azul, where the tour starts with a riding through pastures, jungle and rivers. During the ride you will admire the beautiful scenery and wild life to create one of the most unforgettable experiences.
Return to the hotel and in the afternoon we will provide you with a regular transfer to Arenal Volcano Area where you will stay for two nights.
About Arenal Volcano Area…
This area represents the countryside of our towns. These lands are dedicated to agriculture and cattle ranches become what many people have called the heart of the country. The North area, in which the Arenal Volcano is located at, is proud to be the home for the Cano Negro Wild Life Refuge, caves, waterfalls, forest reserves and a whole country within Costa Rica. The main attraction of this area is by far the Arenal Volcano, active since 1969 with its curative hot mineral springs and its manicured gardens. It rises 1,633 meters above sea level and casts an almost flawless silhouette on the land below Arenal's last explosion was in 1969 but this volcano is far from dormant. Its constant rumblings are Arenal's most popular characteristics.

Day 5: Arenal Volcano Area
Today you will enjoy in the morning the Sky Tram tour. The Sky Tram is a 15-minutes aerial tram ride through the rain forest where you will have spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano, the Arenal Lake, and the Tilaran mountain range.
After you ascend on the Sky Tram, you will descend on the Sky trek, a 9.186-foot long zip line system that gives you the opportunity to enjoy the rain forest and its beautiful views in a fun, easy and safe way.
Both rides are located at the Arenal Reserve, a transition reserve between the rain forest and the cloud forest, where the visitors can practice hiking and bird watching as well. Afternoon at leisure for optional activities (extra cost) in the area.

Day 6: At leisure
Breakfast and morning at leisure. At noon you will be returning back to the city of San Jose with regular transfer. One night stay at selected hotel in San José.

Day 7: Flights back home
After breakfast, departure transfer to Juan Santamaría International Airport for your flight back home.
